Trails & Treats
If you like to walk, cycle, run or a combination of all 3 - then Abernethy has you covered. Whether it's a leisurely stroll around our farm tracks on the hunt for tractors, a hike in our glorious woods or one of the many biking trails nearby chasing your next KOM, there's something for everyone.
Here's some of the best local routes picked by James (obsessive mountain biker!). We'll be waiting for you with coffee and cake!

3km long, 100m ascent
A lovely circular trail with stunning views, a babbling burn and lots of local horses to chat to. You can access this path from the top of Kirk Wynd - parking available and doggy's love it! Be careful of the steps, these can be slippy when wet.

3.7km long, 200m ascent
Steep in sections, this walk takes you to the summit that overlooks our picturesque village. Totally worth it when you reach the top!

3km long, 27m ascent
An easy circular walk or run, mainly on tarmac providing glorious views from the valley floor.

8km, 300m ascent
A route with splendid views that can be completed on bike or foot. Some steep climbs, but mostly smooth. Please be aware of farm animals and close gates behind you.

17km, 600m ascent
A taster to show you a bit of what Pitmedden has to offer. For Intermediate Mountain Bikers, some steep and rooty sections, but all rollable and great fun. A 2km stretch of road brings you back down to the village.

22km, 500m ascent
A short and sweet gravel ride touring our local area. Great views and a couple of lung busting climbs.

48km, 900m ascent
Over the hill and into Fife. Starts with a steep pinch but then mellows out, a nice medium distance sample of what the area has to offer.

135km, 2100m ascent
A great gravel route that will require a cake or two upon completion. Tour the beautiful Tay by road and gravel track.
